Which side is the dry side of the Coast mountains of British Colombia, East or West?

The east side.

The west faces the pacific ocean, picking up all the rain, leaving the east dry.

The east side will be the drier side.  The clouds drop their moisture on the west side of the mountains as they're going over the mountains, and they'll have less when they get to the east side.

That's true not only for the coastal mountains of B.C., but also for the Cascades and the Rockies.
