  1. In all states, you bicycle on the right side of the road, going with the flow of traffic. And also observe all traffic rules and signs.

  2. In all of the states you are to ride along with the flow of traffic. I don't like that idea either...cause they could hit you from behind where if you were going on the other side, you could get over when you see they are getting too close for comfort!

  3. 1. you are a vehicle on the road. always ride with the traffic. never ride against traffic as this when most collisions with automobiles occur! drivers are not looking for traffic coming from the wrong direction at intersections. nor are they looking for traffic riding off of crosswalks! true, most stop lines are before crosswalks, but that doesn't mean that motorists don't roll halfway into the intersection anyway.

    2. ride safely, and be aware of whats ahead and behind you. if necessary, take more of the lane (especially if you'll be making a left turn).

    3. ride predictably, and use hand signals. when possible, make eye contact with other drivers.

    4. you have the right-of-way over the traffic behind you! just like passing a slower car, they must wait until it is safe to pass you! as a gesture of good will, if you have a clear view of the road ahead, and it is safe for them to pass. ride as far to the right as is safe for you, and wave them around. if it is not safe for them to pass, you can use the hand signal for braking, to hold them off..
