Which side to put my pegs on my BMX bike?

I have recently decided to learn to grind on my bmx bike.

I role in on my left side

I turn for a 180 to the left

And I can't barspin but It would feel comfortable to turn the handlebars left

It sounds self explanitory to put my pegs on the left side of my bike but it just doen't seem comfortable to put them on that side and i think that they should go on the right.

Those who know how to grind and know about what im saying, Could you please tell me which side to put my pegs on.

thanks

  1. First....work on developing your offside skills so that you can start to 180 on your right.  That's just an overall good idea.

For now, it sounds like you should have your pegs on the right side if you're doing skatepark stuff.  Most people set them up that way.  Since you feel most comfortable airing to your left, it makes the most sense to mount the pegs on the right....that'll set you up for a natural grind or stall.

If you're doing street grinds, then yeah, putting them on your left might work out better.  Maybe you could try hopping up onto some ledges to get a better feel for what's natural to you.  Approach the ledge and imagine what it'd be like to be grinding on that side.   Come at it from the opposite direction and see how that feels to you.

Try it out and see what you think.  You can always switch them to the other side, or even run 4 pegs if you don't mind some stupid jeering from guys at the park.   :o)
