  1. Both, Georgia invaded land that wanted independence, Russia disproportionately responded. Both sides are acting like bullies.

  2. russia is wrong coz it supports separatism in Georgia's territory

South Ossetia is a part of georgia but wants independance coz is backed by Russia, if not Russia or its support for Ossertians everything wld be Much more better

  3. Ok Georgia launched a military offensive aginst russian backed rebals with in its own borders(witch it had the right to do) and Russia witch gave all of the rebals passports(in viloation of international law) and than Russia invaded saying they had to protect their citizens(witch they had no right to do) for the people who say that Georgia invaded the SO provance the SO provance is legaly part of Georgia a country can't invade its own territory.....

and look at the timeline the Russians were planning this for weeks i mean come on Russia jsut happened to have 50000 men and 1000 tanks jsut sitting on the border the same day as the olympics...

  4. Georgia needs to let go of the land that doesn't want to be apart of it, let go of their wanna be rule.  They shouldn't have killed all those people, Russia has every right to take back the land and retaliate, with in reason, which Russia did and now its over with.  Cease Fire

  5. Very often it is very strange to me that western people, especially Americans, do  not know anything about very many things in the world. But at the same time they think they can judge.

Let me tell you real facts:

    1. GEORGIA ATTACKED Southern Ossetia at night on the 7th of August. Georgia had proclaimed cease fire 4 hours before that. That's why the inhabitants of Tshinvali  went to their beds on that evening of Thursday without any fears.  As a result they were not ready for the Georgian attack. A few hundreds of them were killed at once buy Georgian missiles. There were no Ossetian troops in the town.

Total 1 night casulties - over 2000 people (4% of the population). Not all the bodies have been found yet.

    2. Russian army went into Southern Ossetia on in the evening of August the 8th to defend Ossetians. 92% of Ossetians are Russian citizens! Tshinvaly was staying helpless for 24 hours. It was destroyed to the ground level by Georgians. But Ossetians are very brave highlanders and they never even thought about surrender so the Georgian  agressors were stopped and then thrown out of the town.

    3. By this Monday morning Russian army defeated Georgian military forces but stopped on the border between Southern Ossetia and Georgia and never made a single step into Georgia.

Yes, Russian air forces destroyed military objects inside Georgia but it is usual tactics. US army does it everywhere.

Georgia pushed by the US Government killed thousands of people in Southern Ossetia. Russian soldiers found the plan of Georgian military operation in one of Georgian military headquarters' vehicles. Strange enough it was in English. There are very strong rumours that the whole operation was prepared by the US army specialists... There were soldiers with black skin among Georgian troops. Some of them were killed. So, my dear Americans, be ready to get some coffins not only from Iraq but also from Southern Ossetia... Sorry for that.

  6. i hate all these news people trying to scare us saying "omg, is this a new cold war?" "Is the Soviet Union returning?" and all this BS. IMO, I think it is blown out of proportion.

  7. they are both to blame, period.

  8. Neither side. They have been at it for one thousand years.

  9. Both. South Osseta wanted independance from Georgia. Georgia invaded. Russia defended South Osseta throwing the Georgian troops out and then marched into Georgia.

  10. On 20th September 1990  South Ossetia declared its independence from Georgia. The first South Ossetia supreme power election was in December 9 1990. But Georgia acknowledged the election to be illegitimate and decreed to abolish sovereignty of the new unrecognized Republic of South Ossetia, and on the next day the Georgian government implemented the state of emergency on the territory of South Ossetia. On 6th January 1991 Georgia put its army on the territory of South Ossetia, activated the operations and started the blockade of the autonomy of South Ossetia. As result more than 10 thousand people left South Ossetia for North Ossetia and about 30 thousand Ossetians left Georgia. During the armed conflicts 1991-1992 about 300 Osetians disappeared without a trace, more than 40 thousand got status of refugee, and more than 100 Ossetian rural area were destroyed by Georgian army.

The armed conflicts were stopped when Boris Yeltsin and Eduard Shevardnadze signed the Dagomys agreements.

South Ossetia became an independent republic in January 1992 de facto, but Georgia could not let it go.

In 2004 Mikheil Saakashvili has became the president of Georgia, and the main subject-target of his presidential campaign has been South Ossetia. He has violated the Dagomys agreements.

  11. Russia is wrong.....

For 3000 year history georgia never was aggressor... unlike russia for all its history russia was invading and conquering... they have made ethnic cleaning in 92-93 in abkhazia and ossetia while more than 300 000 refugees were pulled out from their home to other cities of georgia....

then they made a full ethnic cleaning in Chechnya.... and now they blame georgia for ethnic cleaning for opening fire for one night at tskhinvali from where ossetians and other north Caucasians were bombing nine georgian villages for one week....

Before opening fire georgian president warned ossetians and georgia completly stopped fire even from avtomats while from tskhinvali they were shooting with various hard weapons....

Russian "Peacekeepers" in Tskhinvali told Georgian forces that they can't control the shooting from Tskhinvali and weren't able to stop them....  So at night georgia said they were starting operation to neitrilize military points in tskhinvali....

Russia was wrong in yugoslavia, finland chekhoslovakia, in georgia in 1989 when they stopped peacefull meeting with tanks and various gas weapons killing many unarmed and peacefull people with tanks in the center of Tbilisi.... but noone talked about it as that time georgia was part of soviet union.....

Russia refuses to let georgia be indipendent....

And finally I advise u not rely on Russian information sites and TVs... in the last days I read so many desinformation, that don't think there will be any truth there....

    See: www.stoprussia.org

for other aggression from russia towards georgia see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_9_tra...   - the twenty victims mentioned in the article is the official version... real and official version is very different in russian policy  very much...

there about hundred people lost in that night in the center of Tbilisi....

then russia thought they win the war against georgia and georgia will remain in soviet union but that was just battle and not war....  just like today....

  12. I think Russia is wrong. Georgia is a country that broke off from them after the downfall of Russia, along with a few other countries like Yugoslavia.
