Question:

Which situation is better for a charity car wash?

I am leaving for Florida on July 26th until August 12. I want to hold a charity car wash event before the end of the summer. My initial thought was to set as much of the groundwork as possible now, and then hold it when I get back. But I live in Southeast Michigan and I'm afraid it will be too cold by mid-late august for a car wash event. My only other option is to hold it before July 26th. Is that deadline way too tight or is it manageable? Would it be better to hope we have a warm August? I intend to use my friends and the animal shelter I am benefitting to get volunteers, and we will be holding the event at a professional car wash.

I have organized plenty of events in the past and just held another fundraiser a few weeks ago, but I haven't done a car wash yet. I know there's a lot of work involved, but don't know how fast it can feasibly be done.

  1. i think you can manage for July 26th. your friends (as you said, they would be helping you anyway) can help you with the planning. you basically have almost a whole month to plan. but you also said that you were leaving for Florida on that day.....are you sure you'll have time for the car wash? if you realize that it may be too much of a hassle then, i would advise you to hold it off until August. i don't live anywhere near Michigan, but I think the weather will be plenty warm enough.
