  1. Well it depends on what jumps and spins you are doing so if you could tell me that then I could tell you what level you'd be in because in junior there are a lot of triple jumps.

Though at some clubs I've also heard that there are non-competitive levels called junior and intermediate. And the competition levels are not dictated by your age, but rather by your ability level.

  2. where i live, levels are based on skill, not age. junior levels require several doubles, flying spins, and several different spirals.

  3. I'd be inclined to go to a rink for an assessment lesson with a coach and see what level they would say you were as its more to do with what skills you have on ice eg jumps and spins than your' actual age.  If you are 13 but not done much skating before they might put you at pre-preliminary level to learn basic skills before you progress to juniors.   I take it you live in US rather than UK.

  4. your age doesnt matter it all depend on the last test you past

  5. Skating levels aren't determined by age, unless you're planning on skating as an adult in the adult track where you have to be 21.  Skating levels are determined by the tests passed, so anyone of any age having passed the 6 levels (USFSA) prior to junior would be in that level.  So even at 13, skating junior, you could still be skating with skaters much older or younger.  :)

  6. Anyone of any age can compete at the junior level.  It's not an age group for just highschoolars.  As long as you are capable of doing the required elements to pass the junior test, you could compete at that level.

  7. You would compete in the junior level if you have passed the all the tests prior to that. Levels are not determined by ages, they are by abilities.

There could be 6-10 year olds all the way to 20 year olds in the junior level.

  8. Well it depends on what jumps/spins you can do. In junior level there are lots of triples.

If you list what jumps and spins you can do, I could probably tell you what level you could compete in.

(By the way, I am going by USFSA skating levels, so if you are talking about different skating system, it may be different.)

  9. junior is the level before senior in usfsa so that means there is triple jumps and highly advanced footwork. there have been 14 year olds in that level but they are elite. figure skating isnt sorted by age, its sorted by level of achievement. talk to your coach about what level to compete
