which skis and boots do i want?

been out of skiing 8 yrs - i Ski the Icy N. East

was an Expert type skiier . .. now ? ? Who knows ? ?

need a Light boot / ski for Bumps and all around ice-

how about a Salomon Ski Combo?

  1. if you're out of it for a while, and going to go back, unsure, and do some moguls, I'd stick with something on the shorter side, under 200cm, maybe like a 170cm ski.  easier to turn and manuever.  Salomon makes some good stuff.  As for ice, just keep it well tuned with a sharp edge.

The boots should fit TIGHT around your foot and ankle, the best fitting boot regardless of weight is what you need.  You will get used to them in a short time.  As to the best ski for bumps, try several different skiis at a demo days.  Since you last went skiing, the boards have gotten shorter and are now much wider.  Skiis are now about chin to nose height, and the tune of a pair will change how they ski.
