  1. get the yellow shells with the white body, sorry not to good with names!!

  2. gold mysteriy snails would do fine in your tank as far as reproduceing the may but unlike pond snails they can be controled very easly mystery snails are a type of apple snail and unlike pond snails they do not lay their eggs in the water the lay them above the water in tanks this is normaly near the light if they can get up by it their clutches of eggs are very easy to see and tear down they lay the clutches of egges one egg about the size of a bb in a bunch they will look a little bit like a wasp hive so they are easy to disguard if you do not want any more

  3. I was told by someone at a fish specialty store that their tanks with the snails were the worst for algae even though that's what they eat, so I went with another algae eater instead.  I can't find any commercial snails that don't reproduce.

  4. Unfortunately, Oscars and chiclids make fine meals of snail (any type).

  5. Mystery snails (black or golden) will do fine and shouldn't reproduce like most other snails.
