It sounds rather odd, but I deffinitely remember seeing this on animal planet so long back. Solid is sort of the wrong word, it becomes almost like a jelly substance. I can't remember the snake, it's probably a foreign snake. I need it for the book that I'm writing, it's very important.

  1. Who cares

  2. Snakes which have haemotoxic venom, such as rattlesnakes, would have this effect. The venom of elapids such as cobras and mambas is neurotoxic, working on the nervous system, and does not effect the blood in this way.

  3. This should help to point you in the right direction.

Tropidechis carinatus – also known as a Rough-scaled or Clarence River snake

    and the

Pseudonaja textilis – also know as the Eastern Brown Snake

    Both are found in Australia.

The venom causes a reaction, which can be broken down into several catigories.

  4. hmmmm......i remember hearing that too....thats pretty interesting.....(I am gonna give you a star)

I know the Black Mamba is the deadliest snake, but i am pretty sure it doesnt do that to your blood.

I know there are snakes that put venom AND glucose in your bloodstream, and that might thicken your blood, but i still am not sure

I know pit vipers's venom will break down your blood cells and kill you, but thats not the jelly/solid you are asking about

i think cobra bites just kill you with few side affects, not sure though

This thing about the blood may be just a myth, but i DO know some snake venoms make the victums blood clot, which is cklose to what you are looking for.

Please read at least this part:

NOW I THINK I AM JUST CONFUSING YOU!!!!!!!!!

so sorry for that........Here, I will tell you what I DO know:

When a venemos snake bites you, it sends its toxins into your blood stream. The venom will start to digest the victum in most cases. The blood cell will begin to die, and the venom will kill as many blood cells as it touches (thats alot!) The blood will now be lacking blood cells, contain a poison, AND have alot of dead cells in it. That will often cause the blood to clot (not good). The vemon will continue to go through the body. If the victum panics, that may cause them to die sooner. It would make their puls race, causing the venom to pass through the arteries, veins, and capilaries MUCH quicker. If the clotting wont kill you, something else might. The lack of blood cells would cut off circulation of oxegen to the brain. You will have O2 poor blood. One the venom is in teh capilaries, it may eat away at them, since they are so small. it could numb your extremedies, and it might even start digesting your brain!!!!

Sometimes, antibiotics can be given to get rid of teh toxin, and help you recover. Some bites are just too strong. But some are also too weak! so theres hope in some cases

  5. Well some snakes like the cotton mouth poisen your blood although i'm not sure whether they make you blood jelly like..
