Question:

Which snowboard is best for me?

I'm 5'7 & 170 lbs. I've narrowed it to 150-155 boards. I've borrowed a board that was too small (135) and rented some too. Looking for a beginner freeride/freestyle board-honestly I just want to have some "good days" on the mountain not make a mountain dew commercial.

Since I will use it a few times a yr -a used one will save some $.

I found at galacitc sports these used -Burton Cruzer, Morrow Radium Wide and Vision Precsion boards

-I like the Burton Cruzer idea the best - but think it may be to thin for me (my feet are size 10) my snowboard boots measure 12 in long.

The Burton Cruzer is only 241 mm wide (9.6 in) at the waist.

The Vision Precision is 267 or (10.5 in) at the waist

The Morrow radium wide is 267 or (10.5) at the waist.

I can pick any of these boards up used for about $70.

Is any one better?

And should the waist width matter to me?

I see a GNU CHB 149 & CAPITA LCW 152 on ebay - but I don't know much info on them.

R there other used sites out there?

  1. rome is the way to go they make alot of wide boards, try http://www.romesnowboards.com/product/bo...

or capita or stepchild, hope this helps!

  2. I got a Ride Timeless board.  It is awesome.  (I only paid $280 for it brand new at the end of the season)

  3. The sort of board you need is a wide entry level all mountain board. Out of the boards you have listed i dont know much about any of them but the Cruzer sounds like it would be too thin, and neither Morrow or Vision are perticularly good brands. So to be honest i wouldent go for any of them some good boards you should check out are Burton Bullet, Ride Fleetwood, Nitro Revolt Wide. All these boards are entry level and are easy to ride and learn the basics on. If you want some thing slightly more advanced check out the Forum Stomper, Burton Royale, Ride Decade, Option Redline.

all the boards ive listed are wide boards but some like the Redine, Decade and Revolt come in both wide and regular sizes so watch out for that. Good luck with the riding.

  4. get a wide board. from firefly, morrow or sims. they are pretty acheap and not bad quality
