  3. Here are three of the most popular social networking sites.

Bebo is suitable for users reasonably active on the service. This social networking site is primarily based on communication groundwork i.e. chatters and friends/relatives in real life. Bebo is great for local situations, such as school or the workplace.

Facebook is very different. Mainly aimed at offering a chic and easy form of a blog - i.e. an (almost) personal webpage - the effect on chatting in Facebook is not as common as Bebo. Facebook is mainly a tool for showing yourself to the world or your chosen local network. Anybody may add you as a friend on Facebook, as in many instances this social networking site is based on the groundwork of introducing yourself to the world, you 'face on a book' - connecting with people, with similar interests, wherever.

MySpace is a classic social networking site which combines many elements of both Bebo and Facebook. The chatting/commenting concept is widely used here and there are many opportunities to connect with others around the world, including the Advanced Search feature. MySpace might also be called an unofficial dating site, as you can search for people in your area of similar age/s*x/relationship status and their purpose on MySpace, which may be for dating.

    In summary:

*Bebo; for the chatter and active frequenter, who will usually check their profile and respond to new messages and friend requests at least once a week. For people who'd rather use a free and efficient way of connecting with local friends and family.

*Facebook; for the blogger and interest on worldwide connection. Perhaps even a more business-like solution to networking as Facebook offers more sophistication. However, it lacks the customisation of interface unlike Bebo and MySpace. For this reason, it may not appeal to most youths looking for chat and style.

*MySpace; for anybody, a highly-customisable interface (as with Bebo) and many ways to connect with people around the world - especially people in your local area, thanks to Advanced Search. Bebo and MySpace share similar aims - the latter may suit a more 'open' user, rather than 'closed' - as MySpace profiles share a larger variety of personal information.

Personally I'd prefer either Bebo or Facebook. I am a teen, and have used Facebook in the past, but found it to be quite 'boring' and too straight-forward - owing to my eventual departure. Former Bebo user I'd recommend the site. Having not used MySpace I cannot share my experience with that.

    Hope that helps!
