The speakers are now out of the stereo's receiver, and,Oops, I forgot to see which color matches to which. Do you have any idea? Will it hurt the components to test it?

Thank you!

  1. The most important thing to remember is to match the Red (+) Output of the receiver to the Red (+) Input of the speaker.  Also, do the same with the (-) side of the receiver/speaker.

    The color does NOT matter.

Take one end of the speaker cable.

There should be two (2) wire leads on each end of the cable.

Decide which lead you want to use for the Positive/Red (+) side.  MAKE SURE to use that same lead on the other end of the cable to connect to the speaker positive/Red (+) side.

Do the same with the remaining lead for the negative/Black (-) side of the receiver/speaker.

IF YOU WIRE IT WRONG, Don't worry.  It will not harm your system.

IT WILL affect the sound of the system.
