Dylan or Dillion?

They have different meanings. Both are Gaelic and neither are kreativ spellings. Dylan means "son of the Sea" while Dillion is thought to mean "Like a lion, loyal".

I suppose I prefer the first due to its familiarity. Opinions of the name as well?

  13. I love the name Dylan, I even dated a Dylan once!  Dillion is nice too, definitely different!  But I think I prefer Dylan.  Dillion could be shortened to Dill...and I dont like that. :)

  14. Definitely Dylan

  15. dillion.

    its really different.

    dylan is really common.

i love the name though =)

  16. now that you pointed out the difference and the meanings (thank you), i think i like Dillian better.

    both nice names.

  17. I like it spelled Dylan. The other spelling looks like it should rhyme with million.

  18. I prefer Dylan. I prefer it because the spelling gives more of an indication of the way the name is pronounced. Dylan looks like it's said DIL-an (yeah, I know it's pronounced DUL-an in Welsh), while Dillion looks like it's said dill-ee-on or dil-lye-on.

In addition, I prefer Dylan because it's a name from Welsh mythology. He was the son of Aranrhod, and god of the sea. The name is a contemporary classic, and I love that there are modern legends like Bob Dylan and Dylan Thomas.

  19. I would pronounce Dylan like Dillon and Dillion like Million with a D. I like both names. as long as you are meaning for the pronounciation to be that way.

    :)

  20. Dillion is more unique and you can always hope the meaning plays in it and he is loyal

  21. I would spell it Dylan - Dillion looks like it should be pronounced like "million". Maybe you meant Dillon???

I like the name though :)
