  1. Arthritis is the term for soreness and inflammation in a joint.  Arthritis is caused by many factors, including but not limited to, diet, muscle usage, and family history.  Any action that puts excessive pressure on your joints can eliminate joint space, and over time cause joint pain.

    Stretching is the best way to combat arthritis, because it lengthens the muscles and relieves the pressure and strain on those joints.  Improving diet to include a natural anti-inflammatory, like cherries, will also increase pain free range of motion.  


  2. Karate can be hard on the joints due to the amount of kicks and punches that are performed without contact.  To help prevent arthritis tai chi is a good martial art. Swimming is also good.
