Which stamp do I use to mail a small letter to a friend?

I have a Forever stamp, a 39 cent stamp and a 41 cent stamp... I live in NJ Which stamp do i use?

The forever stamp is good for-ever regardless if the price goes up or not.

The Forever stamp is good for the United States.  You did not say whether your friend lives across town or across the world.  If they live across the world, a trip to your local post office is in order.
