Which state in the US has the least overhead wire?

  1. If you go by population then:

    1. Wyoming 522,830

    2. Vermont 621,254

    3. North Dakota 639,715

    4. Alaska 683,478

    It could be Vermont due to small size in combination with small population.


  2. I would have to say either one of the VERY VERY small states such as RI, or one of the ones less populated like Wyoming or Montana.

    I think it's probably Alaska. It's a large state with a small population concentrated along the coast and in a few large cities. And seeing as how it gets so cold there I imagine they bury cable to protect it from the elements. I think the most important clue to the answer is the use of the word "overhead."

    If you find out which state it is please let us know! Now I'm really curious.

  4. I say Alaska; I just visited and many small towns require their own small generators.  Very few overhead lines once you are any distance from towns- many folks "off the grid"
