Which state would be best to live in? a state which has cheap homes, low crime rate and cheap to live?

I want to live in a state where i could own lots of land, buying stuff is cheap, taxes are very low, or no property or income tax at all. I heard in Florida u dont have to pay property tax. i heard in Alaska, u dont have to pay income tax, but those places are too far. I live in NY and all my family is here. I dont want to go too far. I think Pennsylvania would be nice. Give me your thoughts.

If you don't want to go too far from NY, I would move to the south.  The nearest would be North or South Carolina.  However, move away ffrom the costal areas as the cost of living is much more expensive there.  Both states are continually looking for people to come of their state and there are many rural areas.  I would suggest looking on-line for a job in those areas and see what you might be able to make before you make a decision.

Don't move to virginia. I was born and lived there until I moved down south. Ahh..since you want to stay close to home I would move to north carolina. The northern part.
