Water helps to moderate the earth’s climate because of its heat-absorbing ability.

Water is the single greatest erosional agent wearing away the landscape of the earth.

Water is the power source that keeps the water cycle moving through all parts of the planet.

Water is a necessary ingredient for photosynthesis and respiration.

  1. Isn't statement three redundant? I would think that the sun would be the power source in that statement, heating water and forcing it to evaporate, from which point it condenses and cycles over the planet. Look at statement one again for evidence...

  2. If this is homework, you have a stupid teacher. That's a horrible way to word a question.

Break down the statements into their main points:

How does water affect the Earth and living things?

    1. Water affects the Earth's climate.

    2. Water affects the Earth's landforms.

    3. Water affects the way water moves around the Earth.

    4. Water affects the survival of living things.

It seems as though 3 doesn't fit in. Of course, the water cycle in turn affects the Earth and living things, but that's not what it says.  Anyway, I'm not sure what it means by "power source" I'd say that wind, heat, biological processes, etc. are what power it, but that's weird wording. 1,2, and 4 make more sense at least.

  3. The third statement doesnt make sense....of course water is need for the water cycle....its not perfectly clear, but since the other three are ture it must be the third one
