Elements consist of atoms of the same kind.

Compounds contain two or more elements, chemically combined.

The properties of a compound are different from those of its constituent elements.

Both elements and compounds may exist as molecules.

A mixture is an example of what is meant by the term "substance".

  1. Elements consist of atoms of the same kind would be false.  Elements are the most basic form of everything.  They can not be broken down any further.  So elements are not made up of atoms of the same kind, but alternately you can have one or more atoms of an element. Hope it helps.
