  1. Yeah, it's a problem in any state where the outcome is obvious before election day, since our Constitution makes the presidential vote a state-by-state race.  No need to vote in 3/4's of the states by that definition.  I live in California, but I will vote because there are many other elections besides the one for president.  I might as well take 1 second and punch the Obama box, even though I know he will win here.  And I'll punch that box hard.  Don't want to leave a hanging chad.

  2. Any state that historically goes to the same side.

  3. If you dig down in the polls at gallup you'll find that there are a number of states  where the candidates are already 12 or more points apart.  At this point that's too much to make up.  They're not important to the campaigns because they're no longer in play.  Unfortunately for McCain a number of traditionally Republican states are--including Indiana and Colorado.  There are no traditionally Democratic states in play for McCain.  Turn him over, he's almost done.  But don't expect to hear this on cable--it would ruin the narrative.

  4. The States with the LEAST population as they have the LEAST Electoral Votes to be cast as a whole.

The little guys always eat crow.

  5. Alaska, no joke

  6. Interesting question. Right up there with should we let non-land owners vote? Should we let people who don't pay taxes vote?

  7. California, New York.

They are out of the competition because they vote as they always vote without regarding the issues.

The people in these states simply lack diversity of opinion and are always the same.

  8. Ironically, the four states represented by the presidential and vice presidential nominees.

  9. Oregon

  10. Oklahoma gets 7 electoral college votes so if the majority of the popular vote is for Mccain then the states electoral college will vote for Mccain.  California gets 55 electoral votes, the least crucial states in the fall election are going to be the ones with the smallest population.  The higher the population the more electoral college votes a state gets.  Which ever canidate has the most electoral college votes in the end wins presidency.
