  1. It was James VI and I (He was James VI of Scotland and James I of England). Due to quirks after the present queen came to the throne, if we have another King named James he'll be James VIII.

  2. James I only son of Mary Stuart Queen of Scots.

  3. King James I

  4. James I son of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Mary would have likely ruled (she was next in line) had not she and her supporters not pushed to put her on the throne early by deposing Elizabeth.

  5. James I of Scotland, and his Queen Anne. Then after, his son Charles I.

  6. Trick Question:  James I of England, who was also James VI of Scotland, united England, Scotland, and Wales into a United Kingdom under his personal rule between 1603 and 1625.   Scholars translated and compiled an English version of the Bible under King James' authority, and English settlers first colonized both Virginia (Jamestown) and Massachusetts (the Plymouth Colony) during his reign.   He is also responsible for colonizing Northern Ireland with Church of Scotland settlers.

At home, James got into trouble for spending money the  treasury didn't have on his court favorites, including the Duke of Buckingham, upon whom he rewarded a substantial piece of real estate known today as Buckingham Palace.  His problems with Parliament would escalate during the reign of his son, Charles I, resulting in the overthrow of the monarchy and a brief ten-year run of an English republic.

    P. S.  Heather, don't be confused because James I and James VI are one in the same person: King James I of England was the first person to rule England named James, but he was also the sixth person to rule Scotland named James.
