I think these are the 2 top choices. The link for capital one is here: http://www.capitalone.com/creditcards/products/details/?sol=10589&tc=14&credit=3&linkid=WWW_0608_CARD_Z_Z_Z_01_T_CP58914LW

AND the link for Bank of America is here: http://www.bankofamerica.com/studentbanking/index.cfm?template=stb_student_photo_expression and yes, I would love to upload my own photo for the card, but I'm also looking for other pluses in each card. Anyone use any of them or have experience? Thanks :D

  1. It would depend on what your past credit rating is, and what the interest is going to be.

19.8 is extremely high interest.  That is what Capitol One is charging on the link you provided.

Read the fine print, before you sign anything, know what you are getting yourself into.

19.8 percent is 20 cents interest on every dollar you spend.

Best thing to do if  you don't have credit history, is to go to a bank personally.  If you have any questions, about the card you can ask the person, so you know what you are getting yourself into. Ask for a "secured credit card" they are the easiest to get and they help build your credit history, fast.

  2. Capital One has a long established program for student credit. They have a card with rewards. I know with their regular card you put a photo on it, so I am assuming, but not entirely sure you can with the student card. You can learn more about their cards here.

  3. Hi i am carlo and i have a question I got my high school diploma and want to go to college and medical school cause i want to be a surgeon but i got no money is there a way that i can get a loan to cover college and medical school and not pay until i am a doctor also my parents are pour so they dont have good credit can i still get a loan finish college not pay until i finish medical school and not use any money that i have cause i help my parents pay the rent.

bank of america oh and can u rate my answer

  4. I've had both of them. Bank of America is A LOT better. Capital One charges you so much for EVERYTHING! They tack on fees like crazy, and if u don't pay it when its due, they will put it in collections right away (they are supposed to wait 120 days). It is horrible. Definitly go with Bank of America. They have lower rates, and they don't charge you crazy fees, and you'll probably get a higher limit.

  5. They may be equally usefull in trying to establish credit, however, Capital One is far more popular. Just choose one and stick it out with perfect re-payments and you'll be well on your way to a healthy credit report.

And uhmm for Carlo (who answered this post with his own question)...go to your local bank and apply for a professional student loan (see below)

  6. Ugh those are both awful!  They don't offer any rewards and they have incredibly high rates for a student.

I work with the credit card industry and I can tell you that the Citi Bank line of cards are the way to go..  Low fees and an awesome reward program.
