Which style of fencing do you find to be the most fun?

Obviously this is a matter of opinion, with no right or wrong answer. I think there are distinct differences in the personality types that favor a particular weapon. The sabre is favored by the mercurial type, those who like an aggressive style. A lot of young people like the sabre because they can leap at their opponents and slash at them. It is very dramatic. There many epeeists who are phlegmatic: they'll spend a lot of time probing for an opening. Strength and point control count for much in epee. The foil is the best weapon to start learning fencing with. There is a lot to learn and much of it will apply to the other two blades. A foil bout can also be very beautiful to watch with much counter-play. You can spend years developing the finesse that marks a fine foilist.

My own preference is for the epee. I love to be able to get a hand touch when my opponent didn't even realize his pinky was exposed.
