Question:

Which subject should I drop?

I have a choice between English Language and History, I received a B grade for my English AS level (5 marks from an A) and an A grade in history, 13 marks over the A boundary. However, I was planning for quite a while to drop history, as I found it harder and English would be more useful for the university course I want to do (Modern Languages). Which should I drop now?

  1. drop history, you must ave decided to do that for a reason and a B at AS can easily (assuming you keep working) become an A at A level. What other subjects are you studying? Do they go better with English?

  2. Don't drop either of them. Sounds like you are doing well. If you drop one, you have to start over. Can't you get it over with while you're doing so well???

  3. I would recommend that you keep working at English if you want to do a course in modern languages, as in the long run this will be more useful. After all, if you were just 5 marks from an A, you can definitely achieve an A if you work hard throughout the next year.

    Good luck! :)

  4. It is a pity you have to think about dropping either of these. History is a useful subject as it shows you can do research and analytical thinking.  It is a good subject to have but English Literature is more important if you want to do a subject like Modern Languages.  What are your other subject choices?  ie, do you need maths or a science if you are doing modern languages?  Try and keep both these subjects if possible.

  5. Stick with the classes that help you with your degree.

  6. Neither.

  7. I say drop the history. Most people don't need any more than just a sampling of history, but the ability to read and write in english is very important.

  8. Drop historyy...its best if u do da course which will help u more wid ur degree as more unis will accept u =)
