I just saved up enough money to finally get some subs.

I've decided to either get:

2 12" Kenwood KFC-W3011

or

2 12" Pioneer Premier TS-W1207

They both run 400rms each but the pioneers are dual voice coiled. I have a sony xplode 1300watt class d mono amp running 900 rms. If you guys have any suggestions that would be awesome.

I really can't decide

  1. KFC-W3011s!

I have 2 of these and tehy hit hard. hit 139.1dbs at a sound comp.

You can get 2 of these at crutchfield.com for $130 and a sealed boxf or $70. Totalling $200

    my subs

  2. I would get the pioneers because they are DVC (dual voice coil).

I recommend wiring the sub voice coils in series (this will produce 8 ohms) and then when you connect your amp the subs will be running in parallel and cut that down to 4 ohms. Assuming that you mean your amp is 900 RMS at 4 ohms then each or your subs would be receiving about 450 watts which if you lower your gain slightly you will be fine for those subs.

    hope this helps.

  3. Go kenwood. Those subs hit pretty hard and are very nice in sound quality. Yet pioneer premiers hit so much harder, with less clarity. The look I prefer kenwood, but it's really up to you. Try to look up an audio store near you that sponsors kenwood or pioneer to hear each subwoofer for yourself. Good luck.
