Which suburb in Melbourne, Australia to move to?

Which suburb in Melbourne should a family with a baby move to? Also, which public or private prep school should I consider for my daughter? I'd prefer to live near the school but not too far from the CBD. Thank you for any advice!

  1. I agree with the other person.

    Yarraville + Williamstown are great areas, especially people with young children.

    It's a safe, nice area.

    It's quite nice all around there, untill you move a bit further to Footscray, I live there, It's fine but very multi cultral, maybe not safe for young children though.

    Marbrynong is also great !

    + They have a new housing estate!

  3. I agree with williamstown and yarraville- my nephew was brought up round there and he now lives in yarraville and has two small children. It is ideal for them.

  4. Fitzroy seemed a groovy little area to live in, close to the center too but out of the way from all the hustle an bustle. i noticed a few schools big an small when i was working around there, not sure on their quality tho

  5. Williamstown/Newport/Yarraville.

    all a max of 10 mins away from city.

    western suburbs.

    great public and private schools.

    primary and high schools.

    easy access to public transport and schools buses
