  1. Jewel-Osco (aka Albertson's)

  2. superstore!

  3. well it depends on where you live. if you live in america usually people shop at wal-mart, kroger, albersons, and tom thumb. but if you live in let's say brittian. maybe summerfields, asda, and tesco.

  4. kroger / costco

    cheap, close, good items, samples.

  5. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods.  Trader Joe's because the prices are great, the customer service is phenominal, I can buy organic.  TJ's will even encourage their customer to try something.  If they simply don't like the taste, they can return it.  Overall, it's a small market that packs a wallop when it comes to buying organic, customer service and a good selection for a smaller market.

Whole Foods:  Mainly because I can buy organic.  Another reason is that I can buy herbs and flour, nuts and many other items in bulk. The prices are high, but it's very close to home and convenient, and a bigger store so there are things I can get there I can't get at Trader Joe's. I don't mind paying a little extra once in a while.

Those are my 2 favorite grocery stores. There are some food and household items I buy at Costco.  I'm able to purchase a number of organic products there as well (bread, natural peanut butter, herbs and spices).  Different stores for different reasons... but my favorites are still Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

There's on one place I would NEVER shop in for groceries or anything else.. .Wal*Mart.

  6. Wal Mart cuz I'm in Arkansas

  7. sweetbay,walmart,+ Publix

  8. Dillons and Wal-Mart. Sams club has good stuff too, especially pineapple (the best ever).

  9. Jewel...

  10. kroger/walmart

  11. Wegmans, because I use to work there *L* Great Customer service and I can find normally anything I want that I cant find elsewhere. Prices are a lil higher then norm but the quality of their products are worth it

  12. Sweetbay, Albertson's and Publix"s....Florida

Nothing is cheap anymore, the selection is about the same, and that's about all I have in my area.

  13. i like sweetbay

  14. Not tescos thats for sure

  15. Safeway they always have a good selection

  16. i like harris teeter and safeway. im not sure any store has great customer service, but i like the layout of harris teeter and safeway. but actually wegmans has good customer service and plenty of folks on the floor- not to mention its a hellabig store; i did forget trader joes, their customer service is cool too

  17. Gino's...in 1975. they had the NEW Kentucky Fried Chicken!

  18. In arizona theres Fry's a Kroger company,Bashas's a local company, and  Walmart seems cheap...

Safeway high prices , Albertsons too!

  19. Hornbachers or SunMart

  20. ranch 99 - asian grocery chain.

cost on produce and the variety of different ingredients, sauces you can't find anywhere in a typical american supermarket chain. ranch 99 usually has fresh (live) fish, crabs and shrimp tanks instore. they offer free deep fried service for your fish should you need it.

the customer service is okay, but the price and selection is hard to beat.

  21. aldi's no real reason

  22. Wal Mart, in Ormoc City, (PHILS) ...coz it plays this song VERY often!

Do your Wal Marts play cool music in the USA? When this song plays, the store is filled with singers!!! So cool.

    .

  23. Publix

  24. Kroger. They're customer and g*y friendly.

  25. meijers

    cost and selection

  26. Well, in Chicago we do our best to NOT shop at chains... We have dozens of small Polish, Italian, and Jewish Delis and fruit and veggie stands for produce.

    Bobaks for their smoked meats...

    Genes Deli for cold cuts...

This other one on Racine & Grand for their fresh made Italian Sausage...

    Stanlies for fruits and veggies...

But when I don't have time to go across town for this stuff I choose Dominick's over Jewel...

Dominick's is owned by the Safeway Corporation and Jewel is owned by Albertsons... or at least, it was last time I heard.

Chain stores are, literally, upto FOUR TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE for meats and veg... And usually of much lesser quality.

Organic produce at Dominick's may be $5.00 a pound while the same thing, usually fresher, at Stanlies is $1.00 a pound... And their stock is constantly being refreshed because of the numbers of customers.

I would go to a local deli over a chain store any day.

  27. shoppers food warehouse....they are the best

  28. I like getting basic stuff, like milk and cereal, at Aldi's.  There usually aren't big crowds, and they have pretty good prices on most foods.  The only problem is they don't have a wide selection.

For my main shopping, I usually go to Walmart.  They usually have everything I need and pretty decent prices.

Kroger is also on my list.  My mom always tells me what's on sale, and we go there are look for deals.  Otherwise, Walmart usually has better sales.

Publix is ok too, but I don't usually shop there.  I like the atmoshpere in Publix, though.  And they have cooler products and more specialty stuff.
