Which tax return form is filed by joint filers who have dependents?

  2. 1040 or 1040A.  You can't claim dependents on 1040EZ.  That info can be found several places on irs.gov - one is in Publication 17 pages 7-9.

You can file the 1040.  You may or may not have the option of filing the 1040A, but anyone can use the 1040.  You can have income from salaries, dividends, interest, royalties, partnerships, S-Corporations, Trusts, etc. and businesses and farms which you operate and if you have all of these you would be limited to form 1040.

    either form can be used, I believe if you have other deductions and schedule to use you would file 1040A
