  1. That really depends.  There have been studies on the effects of green tea that have been popularized lately showing its antioxidant properties, its effect on reducing risks of stroke, etc., which point to green tea as being a great general health tonic.  I drink a cup or two nearly every day (I also like the taste, so this isn't a sacrifice for me).  Black tea is fermented green tea, and offers many of the same benefits, though some of the antioxidant properties are lost, and it has more caffeine--it is a slightly better digestive aid, however.  I don't know enough about red tea (rooibos) to comment.

"Herb tea" is a category, not a tea type, so I can't answer that question directly.  For example, as I type this I am drinking a mild tea of chrysanthemum (Ju Hua), Goji berries (Gou Qi Zi) and mint (Bo He)--my own formula, very tasty, and good for reducing eye strain according to TCM (it's working, by the way), but NOT a general health tonic.  Many herbal medicines (in TCM in particular) are really just VERY strong herbal "teas" (brewed for a long time), but you wouldn't want to drink them if you didn't have to as they usually taste awful.  Bottom line:  the health benefits of herb tea depends on the herbs included, and your reason for taking them.

  2. Black, green, white teas derive their leaves from a warm-weather evergreen tree known as Camellia sinensis. The leaves from this tree contain polyphenols. The more processing tea leaves undergo, the darker they will turn. Green tea and white tea are the least processed tea. They are simply steamed quickly. According to Dr. Doug Balentine, Director of Nutrition Health with Lipton, white tea is derived from the young new leaves from the Camellia plant in early spring. These young leaves contain no chlorophyll, so they are silvery white. Black tea is partially dried, crushed and fermented. As we have mentioned before, regardless of the processing method, black, green, white  teas all contain polyphenols. In fact, tea ranks as high as or higher than many fruits and vegetables in the ORAC score, a score that measures antioxidant potential of plant-based foods while Herbal tea is not derived from the leaves of the Camellia plant and so does not have the particular health-promoting properties. Indeed, most herbal teas in the market are NOT tea at all. They are only infusions made with herbs, flowers, roots, spices or other parts of some plants. The proper term for this type of beverage is "tisane."

  3. All of them have good benefits, but I prefer rooibos tea  the best.

  4. drink black, green & herbal one cup each daily.....

  5. to find out which tea is best for you, you need to know what all teas do for the human body.

  6. They are all good. Black tea has more caffeine followed by green, white has less and red has none. As for antioxidants Green has more than black and red (not technically tea because it comes from a different plant) and white have more than green.

Herbal teas can be good although each herb has its own specific action in the body so you would need to do some research to decide which herbs are best for you to use for tea.

I am a drinker and collector of tea so here is what I do. I usually start the morning with black tea for a little caffeine boost, then mid morning or early afternoon I have some green tea tor a little pick up, mid to late afternoon I switch to white tea for less caffeine and in the evening I switch to red or herbal.

Teas have been known to have a variety of health benefits from boosting metabolism, fighting cancer, strengthening teeth, strengthening immune system, improving skin, reducing blood clots, reducing heart troubles.

There seem to be more studies done on green tea than others. There is also some evidence that using milk with tea reduces some of the health benefits.
