traditionally ... Collingwood was the team of the working class people . .especially those of Irish Catholic descent.

SO many people knock the pies .. but they are an iimportant party of Victorian football History and tradition.

EDIT and I just wanted to add that there is no shame in having a grass roots supporter base made up of working class people...

collingwood would have the majority of non working people full stop and probably the majority of the jail population and dentists who make a killing on collingwood supporters,Carlton on the other hand would have plenty of average Joe's with a few big blue bloods thrown in for good measure. :)

Why do people make such generalisations?

I'm a Collingwood supporter, and I don't plan to be unemployed when finish my education.

And another thing: How do these teams have so many members if their supporters aren't working class? Do you think that 40,000 supporters would be able to purchase memberships if they were unemployed?

Hey thats not funny! id say Collingwood though. ive gone to see Marc Murphy train and you see zillions of people there even on a school day. collingwood has plenty of ppl at they're training sessions but not quite so much as the blues. Go Pies!
