high school volleyball or club volleyball? It's a really hard decision- school trains early in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon, but you get school recognition and can play with your friends. Club you only practice several times a week after school, but it's more competitive and serious (which I'm okay with) and you're not exactly with the people you know.

I've put so much thought in this, and I can't make a decision, so I thought I'd get someone elses two cents. thank you!

  1. usually people do both

    but

if your playing for fun- school

if your serious about it for college- club

  2. can you do both? i do both.

  3. Typically club vball and the school season aren't at the same time.  I would normally say yes, play both, but it depends. Does your parents want you to choose? Do you have time for both?  Go for both, but if you have to choose, go for the school team b/c of the friends you can make.

Good luck in either team you choose.

  4. I would go for school. It has no cost, you can see more of your friends, and, hey, you do volleyball because it's fun, right? You can choose the one that you think would be more fun for you. If I was choosing the fun one, I would definitely choose school.

  5. if you can manage it, try doing both. but it really depends on how serious you are about volleyball, meaning if you want to play it in college. school teams are fun, but club volleyball is where scouts go. i know many who have done both club and school volleyball and some of them even play college ball. club volleyball is also a great way to meet serious vball players and make some new friends!

    good luck! :]

  6. I am currently doing both actually!

  7. Do both, school may give you recognition, but depending on how good you are volleyball could help you get a college scholarship.  If your concern is that on a club team you don't have friends, well that is the wrong way to think of it.  Club volleyball takes a lot of time and requires you to dedicated a number of weekends and sometimes traveling, which means the girls on the club team become very close almost as though they are your family, and lifetime friendships if you play your cards right.

  8. well i play both.

highschool volleyball is not the same 'season' as club volleyball.

i would recommend both; because i get to play for fun with my friends at school; and play seriously; still with my friends; and learn more in club.

the only downside  to club is very long tournaments that last like 12 hours.

and if you decide to play club; you will become friends with them; i just started playing on a new club team this year; not knowing anyone else on the team; and now some of them are like my best friends!

but i also love highschool volleyball because then i get to be with my friends; and one of my old teachers who is like on of my best friends (sounds weird; i know) is the coach & it is so much more fun!

you just have to decide if you want to have fun with your friends; or become a better player on a club team & try to make new friends.

i would recommend both though ;)
