Which team will do the worst?

I don't think the Rangers have much cap room to do anything big. And I don't know if the Panthers are going to do anything - I haven't heard any news from them.

I see Carolina and Toronto having tough seasons. Also, Buffalo has some dark days ahead.

I'm going to say the blackhawks. Generally they like signing older vets rather than harvesting new players so look for them to overpay for a few fossils.

Although I'm NOT a Leaf fan...I would count them out. They had a fantastic end to the season...and with the goalie situation finally sorted out, I can see them making a good start to the year  (where they always seem to lose points) and making it to the playoffs (where anything can happen).

I can see the Leafs getting impatient and bailing out on the long term plan, thinking that IF they make the playoffs this might be their year. I really believe they need to suck it up for another year or two, banking some draft picks and maybe take a run at Tavares before trying for a playoff spot.

The bottom line is this; make a lot of noise, move a lot of guys around, and trade more future doing it.

Optimism is such a heavy load here in the Nation.

well the flyers practically have no cap room whatsoever and they need to add a defensemen that is good for the new nhl instead of all the big old checking guys they have now. they need to re sign carter, but in doing so they gave umberger up for a wasted pick. they need to sign carter long term but for an extremely cheap amount and they wont be able to get their d man anyway, but one year older for all their young players and a healthy gagne i think theyll do fine for the season.
