South Africa. Because they have never lost to Argentina. That said I freaking love Argentina and I hope those fools at the IRB will start pumping money and attention into Argentina Rugby.

I think South Africa will win because they know what it means to play a world cup semifinal. Argentina has got too much against them, they don't play any international competitions because of the IRB classic discrimination of non anglo saxons teams so they arrive to the semis with a physical condition that is not that good. We've seen it against Scotland. On top of that, Argentina never won against South Africa.

But you never know, if they spill their guts out on the field and attack the springbocks, they can win. But I doubt it: I hope I'm wrong because I want to see Argentina in the final, they deserve to be in the final because what they have done in this world cup is absolutely outstanding.

on paper...its has to be South Africa...but Argentina have come on leaps & bounds over the last few years...and i cant believe that they have come this far

...SO.. it could be anyones game...Argentina have got nothing to lose...they are going to go for it big time...and i hope, as underdogs - they do well!! maybe we will now see a SEVEN nations tournament!!

Argentina!  The dark horses of this RWC!

I just love the way they play and for a team that hardly ever get a chance to play together as an international team, they always manage to cause an upset, as with France and the AB's............and I love an upset and always support the underdog(unless they play Wales, but did reckon Fiji deserved to win)  they improve with every game and hope they stuff the bokks on Sunday.........I for one am looking forward to the match and will be at the ready shouting for them as I drink my red wine!

South Africa is the favorite, but Argentina has a chance. I hope they win or at least make a great match.

It is not 100% true that Argentina never beat South Africa. They beat them in 1982 in South Africa, the score I believe was 21-12 . It does not appear in the records because they were called South America XV, due to politics against apartheid policies they were not allowed to compete as the Pumas (national team) and they put a couple of players from Uruguay and Chile (that did not play) in the team to mask this out.

Hugo Porta had a fantastic performance in that game and he scored ALL the points, try, conversion, penalties and I believe even a drop goal.

I know, that was a long time ago, Porta doesn't play anymore but still.... don't count Argentina out, it you be so great for and amateur spirited team to go through!

As a saffa, I think that SA will have to nullify Argentina's tight five.We have seen that Argentina forwards are very good in rucking over the ball and causing turnovers.

It will be a big battle upfront and I hope for all SA that we match up. Games are won by forwards...Backs decide by how much points!

Did you know that South Africa gave Argentina the name "Pumas"?  In 1965, when the Argintinians were playing South Africa, they wore jerseys with a jaguar on them.  The South African press mistakenly thought the jaguars were pumas and the name has since stuck.

I think that is so cool.

The Pumas are a wonderful team with great potential, but the Boks will win.  Good luck to both teams.

argentina. if South Africa play as badly as they did against Fiji and Argentina play as well as they did against France and Scotland. Hernandez is Argentinas best player by far
