I love you for this question! I always like to make predictions looking forward myself! Its really difficult to get it exactly right. So much can go on between now, the course of the season, and the end of the season. If I had to put my money on it right now.

East #8 seed Chicago Bulls

West #8 seed Portland Trailblazers

West - It wll be a tough task, he Warriors lost their franchise guy, the Clippers have gotten better, and the Blazers continue to rise.

The Nuggets have gotten worse losing Camby for cash.

I say the Warriors, led by Monta Ellis will be back at the bottom end of the playoffs. The Clipps should be tough.

East - the Hawks and 76ers have gotten better, so have the Raports. The Wizards have the talent to be good. The Heat should be back in the mix. It should be a close race once again.

Western Conference:

I'll go with the Clippers if they stay healthy, which is doubtful with a team of Baron and Camby at the two most important positions.

But if they don't stay healthy I'm going out on a limb and saying the Rockets, Yao might not recover very soon after the Olympics so T-Mac will have to lead them again and in the West a 50-32 record means about a 7th seed now.

Eastern Conference:

I believe that the Charlotte Bobcats can nab the last spot in the East ahead of New York, New Jersey, Milwaukee, and a couple others if they play well together, which is unlikely.

The other possibility would be the Bulls, their team is a bit weak without a center but in the East a 38-44 record can get you in.

the warriors, but it will be a battle down to the last game with the clippers, who, ufortuanetly, have improved. the nuggets will fall to 10th, and the mavs will be 7th. the east is another story, but i would have to say the nets
