Which teams have the most potential for winning the Stanley Cup this upcoming season??

i think as far as the west goes anaheim and detroit will meet agian in the conference final and as for the east, i think the habs have a good chance at making an apperance in the final

I'm looking into my crystal ball and I see........ ok, it's not really a crystal ball, it's a sno-globe paperweight, but it's telling me that unless something strange happens in the playoffs next year Detroit will win the west, Penguins or Capitals win the east, and Tampa learns that offense is not enough to win in the playoffs..... after that, who knows? but it'll be fun

Which ever team wants it more doen`t matter how good you our. Or who has the better super stars. It matters if they our hungry to win. Look at the ducks that one year no one thought they could do it. No one thought they had the right guys to do it. But they surprise the whole hockey world. And for the lighting i don`t think they our that good.

In the east, I'd say the biggest contenders are the devils after improving their offense, the rangers and the penguins.  Also with a shot are the flyers, capitals and canadiens.

In the west, the sharks, red wings, stars and wild have the best shot at winning it all.  The flames, ducks and blackhawks also could contend.

every team has the chance, season hasnt started yet.  I will guarantee you that the lightning wont be winning it. Its going to take more than Mike Smith or Olaf Kolzig to get that job done

The obvious answer would be Detroit not just because they just won it, but with the addition of Hossa they're virtually unstoppable. I don't believe this is the Caps or Lightnings year although they have a good upside. Devils picked up some scoring but will let up like last year. Its between the Rangers and Penguins for the east. Both teams took a hit in free agency, Hossa and Jagr, and got pieces to fill those gaps

Obviously on paper Detroit has the most potential... but with that being said, last fall Anaheim was favored to repeat as well.

San Jose will be good again, Now they have a chance to win in the playoffs because they have a "Winner" for a coach, and not Ron Wilson.  Montreal will be tough, and Pittsburgh might have a chance, doubt it, but we'll see.  Tampa "should" be good, but they should have been good this past season too.

I think the Wings and the Habs have the most potential to win it all next year.  The Lightning seem like they're on the right track but they can't win without defense.

i say the leafs. they just got malkin and some russians. they also got scheen  mccabe and kaberle. also sundin is being traded to wings for zetterberg and cleary, so the leafs are pretty much stacked
