Which tectonic plate boundry causes the most active volcanoes and why?

  2. theres an area called the "ring of fire" which is basically a ring of volcanoes that are caused by the pacific plate.

    search up the ring of fire and i'm sure you'll find a lot more stuff

  3. Ring of Fire.

    The Ring of Fire is the outline of the Pacific Plate and has 452 volcanoes. 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes are along this plate.

    Hawaii is the hot spot.

    I'm guessing its due to the amount of other plates that surround it being subducted underneath them. An oceanic crust is more dense than a continental crust so therefore is lighter. (the oceanic crust will subduct underneath the continental crust)... and seeing as the Pacific Plate is mostly water(oceanic crust) there is a lot of activity going on around here.
