  1. I've found a lot of information on study abroad, hopefully may help you:

  2. If at all possible, you should start in the fall.  The fall is when most people start, so that's when everyone meets each other, and many schools have required freshman classes, and it will mess you up if you start in the spring.  At many universities classes will be offered in sequence order, for example, 101 in the fall, 102 in the winter and 103 in the spring.  If you haven't taken 101 and 102, oftentimes they won't let you take 103.  Also, by the spring a lot of the students will have made friends, and it may be hard to break into groups mid-year.

  4. Fall. If this is your first time at University, most intro courses are offered in the Fall term. Spring, you may not have the prerequisites to take some courses.

  5. I have to agree with everyone who said fall. Almost all students in the US start then, so it will be a lot easier to meet people if you begin at the same time.

If you go to a really big university like I did, lots of beginner courses are offered in both the fall and spring, so that might not be an issue.

You can find more info about applying to US colleges and universities here: http://www.universitylanguage.com

    Good luck!!

  6. Spring... The fall semester is used for early decision, and those students who some how got in but can't hack the work.

A lot of "weeding out" happens in the fall semester, so if you are serious about continuing your education, it shouldn't matter if you start in the spring or the fall.

Now, the only draw back to starting in the spring is you are a semester behind the students that are your age, and they have had a jump start on meeting people and getting used to college life.

It all depends on what you are intending for your major, you may want to check the class schedule, you wouldn't want to miss out on classes that are only offered once a year, that will put you even farther behind.

You will have a better chance to get into a good school, that loads of people apply to, in the spring.  Best wishes!!

  7. Fall.

It is the beginning of the year and 80 to 90 percentage of the students join the school then so it is lot easy to get the sequences of courses that you need to graduate without wasting the time waiting for the correct sequences.
