  1. all the answers above me are stupid.

I took both. the ACT Science DOES NOT test your science skills! The science section is basically like the reading section where they simply give you small paragraphs to read that are related to labs and the scientific field. There are also graphs that you just have to look at and answer simple questions.

If you are a fast reader and fast in general. If you are the kid that always finishes tests in school with plenty of time to spare, then take the ACT. The ACT is easier because there arn't any tricks to the test; It simply tests stuff you learned in school straightforward but it's hard to finish because there isn't a lot of time for most students.

The Sat on the other hand, is more easier in comparison to the ACT when it comes down to time. The SAT has enough time to just finish each section. However, it is a bit harder because the format of the test isn't the kind of stuff you do in school on a regular basic

    summarize:

ACT= straight forward school work+ really pressed for time

SAT=not straightforward+ not pressed much for time as much.

  2. it depends on what test you are better and what colleges will accept what (check with your specific colleges)

take both tests and see which one you do better on

  3. The person above me is wrong

For some the SAT is easier than the ACT or the ACT easier than the SAT

The ACT is a test that not only tests you on math and reading but on science as well

Both tests have a "english" reading and math, if you are going to send your scores of the ACT most colleges require that you take the writing section which is an essay like the SAT but with 5 extra minutes

The SAT is used for more east coast schools as well

Take both so you have a better understanding of both tests

  4. The SAT is easier than the ACT. It depends on where you want to go. If you want to be in state then take the ACT, but if there is a chance that you might go to an out-of-state college, then take the SAT.

  5. It all depends on the individual. The ACT tests science whereas the SAT does not. The SAT is a 4 hour test that has multiple sections for reading, writing, and math, whereas the ACT just has one section per subject. If you plan on taking the ACT, also take the ACT writing portion, as most colleges want a writing score to compare to the new SAT.
