  1. I suggest doing them both but if you can only choose one do a 3 day hopper pass that allows you to go to Disneyland and California Adventure. You are allowed to go back and forth between the two and this allows you to take your time in both parks to really be able to see everything and enjoy yourselves without feeling rushed.

  2. Disney; they have some good packages if you stay at their hotel; you can always go over to Universal for a day pass.

  3. Are you renting a car?  I would stay in Disney and spend a day at Universal.  It's only about half an hour - 45 minutes.  You could also get a cab there.

  4. We have a family of six and our oldest is 17, with the others 14 and younger.  I am actually a vacation consultant and have travelled to Orlando with my family 9 different times.  If this is your first visit, I would recommend staying at WDW, or nearby and visiting WDW with all of it's extensions--meaning the waterparks, Downtown Disney and Disney quest, and  of course the 4 theme parks.  Universal, and Islands of Adventure, while great parks and fun for a day, maybe two, wouldn't hold up for a week. You can definitely spend a week or more exploring WDW!  Between  your own resort and everything else, you'll have a great vacation and be able to relax as well.  I'd love to help you plan it out--itineraries are my specialty with timesavers and pointers for your specific needs.  Depending on budget, I can recommend hotels as well.   Hope this helps-and if you'd like additional, please don't hesitate to contact me!

  5. Disney is probably the best choice for you.  I worked there over a summer and there is plenty to see there in a week's time.  I actually think it would be a better experience to take it slow and not rush through everything.  Disney has 4 parks to visit with all kinds of shows, rides, fireworks, parades, animals, and all that good Disney stuff.  Universal studios is pretty awesome too but you don't need that much time there.  At Disney, you can entertain the younger kids and the older kids.  Everyone can get on just about every ride together.  It is expensive at Disney.  It's best to get one of their vacation packages with the food cards.  If this will be your first time at Disney, be sure to tell the employees you meet.  They'll probably give you a cool sticker or pin.  Have fun!

  6. Definitely Disneyland.  You can do everything there is to do at Universal Studios in a day.  Depending on the crowds, you can even do it all in just a few hours.  But Disneyland, plus Disney's California Adventure, is perfect for multiple days.  A week will give you lots of time to do everything there is to do without tiring yourselves out.  You can even do some of your favorite things a second time.  All of your kids will enjoy it.  It's totally worth it.  It's also great in summer when it's open late every night.  That way you can see the fireworks, the electrical parade, and Fantasmic.

You could also take one day of your trip to go to Hollywood and see Universal Studios too.  You'll enjoy it.  You'll also be able to compare and see just how much better Disneyland is.

    Have fun! :)

Edit: Oh, you meant Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida.  Well, I still defintely say Disney World.

  7. well i think Disney world because john and kate plus 8 (tv show on t.l.c) took there kids to Disney and i think your kids should be easier to take to Disney every kid should get to go to Disney

  8. Aimee's right.  3 days at Disneyland is enough, and 1 day at universal is enough.  And the city pass is only a few bucks more than getting the 3 day hopper for DL by itself, and you still get seaworld with it.

Look at Costco if you or a friend has a membership, because they have discounts on the citypass.

    Have fun!

  9. disney is great u will like it. and 1 day in universal is enough.universal is not that big but it has great games like shrek and the mommy.

  10. This is an interesting question. I believe that Disneyland would be the resort for you. Universal Studios Hollywood actually doesn't have any on-site resorts at all. Many of the closest hotels are a good walk from the property with limited transportation options. Also for a week, Disneyland would be way better suited. You should be able to get everything done there and it will be more of a variety for everyone. Disney's California Adventure, the newest Disneyland Resort theme park, is literally right next door to Disneyland. There will be a lot of options and things to do their in the park. Also, the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is connected right to the Disney's California Adventure Park. I believe that you should have a great time. And if you meant Universal Studios Orlando, Disneyland will still be arguably the better pick. The Universal Studios in Orlando has resorts and hotels, but the prices are way more expensive and the rides aren't really for everyone.

  11. You should do both.

Hopefully you did not book your vacation yet.
