    its chlorophyll present in the chloroplast which absorbs light

    in technical terms, the light energy excites an electron in chlorophyll A or B and this electron goes in cycles distributing the energy to synthesize food

    Eg.

    1.Parenchyma cells of the stems of some plants contain chloroplasts and have photosynthetic functions.

    2.Palisade mesophyll tissue in leaves.
