Honda would be a purchase w/ payments around $300/month. Ford would be a lease with payments around the same as the Honda... Both have relatively the same equipment. Thanks for your advice/answers!

  1. If they're both the same, go for the Honda.

Generally, they're both fine cars. (YES people Ford has improved in quality!). But owning a car is way better than leasing one.

  2. the new fusion, if prices are equal.

the fusion has actually out rated the accord and camry both in reliability since it came on the scene in 05. (JD powers and Consumer Reports)  it also has had higher driveability ratings in some tests, is more comfortable and comes with a warranty which the accord won't have.

please note, for those who can read CR, i did say RELIABILITY, not overall rating.  learn the difference.

  3. well I say honda accord but a 2008 the basic 2008 models run at 23,000 and its pretty luxury and the resale on this car in say like mm 5 years 20,000 ford resale not quite that good! and it gets 400 miles to the tank i own one and i absolutely love it! good luck with your purchase! whatever you decide

  4. If it is buying vs buying, it is a tough decision, they are similar deal.. I don't really think a 05 Honda is better than a 09 Ford for the same class as there is always a risk assoicated with buying a used car.

Well... buying vs lease that means the 09 Ford will cause you much more. After 3 year, the Ford is not yours, it get $0 out of it. The Honda deal is much better, it could worth quite some money like 6000-8000 after 3 years.

  5. I would suggest for you as for myself.... I would own Honda because its better car company... American cars never been good, they always brake..... wanna spend less money in the motor shoppe buy Honda! besides has bigger engine if you are the guy who likes to see higher speed on his speedometer. Good luck with the car!

  6. Accord hands down, I own an 05 and they are very reliable. Not to mention can you ever name a Honda that has had continuous problems? You can for Ford. Also resale value will be much higher on your accord then the fusion(3-5 years).

  7. It's a no-brainer.  You will be happier with a Honda Accord.  Especially owning vs. lease.

  8. Honda Accord. They are quality vehicles and will retain their value. In 2 years the Honda will be worth more than the Fusion. The Fusion's value will also be depleated as soon as you drive it off the lot.

Edit: Also by buying a car, when paid off, its yours. When leasing, you pay for it for a certain amount of time then you have to either pay the rest of it off or buy a new car and potentialy pay extra mile fees.

  9. ford fusion

  10. honda accord has better fuel economy and higher depreciation value. and about those consumer reports - the ONLY way you can really test the reliablilty of a car is buying owning the car and living with it everyday until it breaks down. honda's are known to last for hundreds of thousands of miles, while fords are known to do the opposite: break down. my dad used to have a honda civic which had 250,000 miles, and it still works. honda has never had a problem with their vtec engines. if i were you, buy the honda

  11. First off a must have correction.  Mr. Hello said that the Fusion beats the Accord according to Consumer Reports.  They both have excellent reliability and tie.  The Accord is also the better car.  I have the 2008 Auto April issue here with me and for the 4 cylinder versions the Accord receives a 79 out of 100 and the Fusion a 69.  For the V6's the Accord gets a 88 and the Fusion a 77.  The Accord is a better car.  Both ride well with good handling and good transmissions.  But the Accord is quicker has a better seating position, crash test results, and most importantly standard Electronic Stability Control.  The Fusion has no ESC which is vital to help prevent an accident.  The Fusion is beat in the 2007 issue too and 2006.  If you want those numbers let me know.  I don't have the 2005 but I'm sure the Accord won if the Fusion was available.

This Accord seems to have a bit to many miles for the year.  But if it is checked by a mechanic you know and is good and it has maintenance records go with the Accord.  I never liked leasing much. You will always be making payments.  Once you buy the Accord you can always sell it if you want a new car and the Accords have a high resale value so your good.
