I recently bought a fluoride tooth paste for kids at a local store, i'd lie to know if it is not too harmful for my child as he is still a toddler and would not like to harm his health, is there a better tooth paste less harmful. Preferebly something not out of my reach as i'm in South Africa.

  1. don't know if they will have it down there, but for my son I used the training toothpaste.  it has not real chemicals in it, it was just a clear flavored gel.  If you want to use regular toothpaste with the floride they make kids stuff that are in all brands, they have less of the chemicals that the adult stuff.  Just allow the child to swallow the least amount as you can and dont use very much.

  2. You cannot use flouride toothpaste on children that are not old enough to know not to swallow it. They make infant toothpaste, like Grins & Giggles or infant toothpaste. Look for it to say flouride free.

  3. I was told that you shouldn't use the floride toothpaste until the child knows how to spit because ingesting it is not good for them and it can cause white spots on the teeth.  I use the training toothpastes for my son and he loves them.

  4. In the US they have training toothpaste without floride. children shouldn't use floridated toothpasted unless they spit it out (don't swallow). Otherwise they'll get too much floride. Among other things it can cause teeth staining. You don't really need toothpaste. You can just use water and a soft toothbrush.

  5. Try the nilk teeth one ..

Macleans Milk Teeth has been specially formulated for children from 0 - 6 years. It is sugar free, low fluoride, and comes in mild mint or strawberry flavours.

And it is the only children’s toothpaste accredited by the British Dental Association.

    i hope this helped
