Question:

Which track event should I do?

I'd love high jump, but they don't have that-I'm choosing between 200 and 800.

Also, I'm a little on the tall side, with lanky arms and legs.

I'm pretty good at sprinting because my legs are long, but I also have more endurance than most kids my age.

  1. well it depends in what your built for if you skinny and dont run out of breath as fast or you just dont run out of breath as fast then you want to run distance but if your fast and kindof bulkey then you want to do sprints

  2. i'd go with the 800 because you can your endurence in the beginning and then sprint the end.

  3. Try the 400m dash!

  4. I get ya. I was on track and then it ended last week. I have a bunch of friends who had long legs and were super fast sprinter and friends with short legs that were fast at everything. I would do the 200 to definitely get something in and i would do the 800 too. I would also try some sprinting like maybe in the 100 meter or something like that. If you want to try something other than running, just try it out in practice, but don't exactly commit to it. I hope i could help. Do good in your track meet!

  5. I say you are better off in long distance events because you have long legs which equals long stride. I'd try the 800m and see how you do. Plus on the mile, if you have good endurence, your strides will help you in the end.

  6. 800.  You need speed and endurance for it, so try practicing it a couple times.  It will probally fit you nicely.

  7. You should do them all and see which ones you are best at and which ones you enjoy the most!  If you enjoy running a particular race you will be more apt to train harder at it and will improve more...

  8. maybe work on keeping yourself at a constant pace. your 3.05 split at the 800 means you added 18sec to your second 800

  9. Well, I'm 13 too, one of the best on our team. I would say NOT the mile. 6:28? That's not really competitive. And 3:05 isn't a good half-mile either. Maybe try 200m, but what's your time? It takes real endurance, it's harder than the mile to sprint all-out for so long.

  10. high jump
