  1. Tolerance

    A sense of liberty, fairness.

Doing what you feel is right

Listen to both sides of the story

  2. Being tolerant of all peoples, no matter what their color, creed, etc.

The same rights and rules for all.

Not judging people when they are different.

  3. Justice and tolerance. I think Americans have a hard-wired sense of fairness most of all.

  4. Honesty, kindness, adn equality

  5. Tolerance.

Extending the same rights to others than you extend to yourself.

  6. I think they would be all the traits you could use to describe Atticus - loyal, just, kind, fair, independent, hard working, a good father, caring, dignified, accepting, non-judgmental, tolerant, understanding, supportive, generous, giving, respectful, etc.  Those would be the attributes of the ideal American character.
