Which two world historical events of the early-mid 20th century were the most influential on the ?

Arts/Design and Crafts movement? I'm looking to compare Arts, Design and crafts movements which took place in 2 different decades between 1900-1980. It would be great if you state which historical event influenced those movements to take place.

The Harlem Renaissance.  More of literature than art.  But the literature and movement itself most likely led to art.

They both had a lot more impact on art and literature than I posted, but these are just some examples.

The Baby Boom of the 50s lead to an increase in self expression and art in the 60s and 70s. Second event would be WWII or any major war for that matter typically leads to more surrealism.
