  1. depends on how big you are. the ninja 600 would be good but the ninja 500 r is even better if your a little smaller. both are good bikes.

  2. Are you going to race it?.....Because this is "motorcycle racing"

  3. this is not a racing question......

  4. Even though you posted this in "motorcycle racing", I assume you're just talking about for general use.

For beginners there are advantages to both. The Ninja will be lighter & thus easier to steer & stop. The V-star will have a lower center of gravity & lower seat & thus be less likely to tip over, which is a big problem for novice riders at low speeds.  I think you should imagine which one you'll like better after 6 months of riding and get that one.

Of course you should take a motorcycle safety foundation (MSF) course before you get anything.  Good luck & welcome to motorcycling!

  5. I JUST started riding 4 weeks ago.  Don't underestimate your abilities.  Everyone says start small but I don't think it is as important as some think.  I personally didn't want to get something I would trade in a year so I went larger than many would suggest.

I went ahead and bought a Harley Nightster 1200.  The power is no problem AND I'm already lookin for more.  So a 600 Ninja would probably be good if you want a sport bike.  If you want a cruiser I would consider going for the 1100 vstar.

PS: I'm 5'9" and 180 lbs.......so take it for what it's worth and be safe!

  6. These are two different types of bikes.

Also , your question is in the wrong thread.

This has nothing to do with RACING.

  7. A Kawi 600 would be alright if you get an older one like 98-02 and are responsible and naturally skilled hand-eye and balance wise.

lose some weight, you weigh the same as me and I'm 6'5
