  1. Well there are different types of st augustine, depending on the location of the grass, some like the sun and some will tolerate shade some drought tolerant etc.So you can mix them if you need a sunny type to grow up to a shady area where the shade tolerate type would grow best.Floratam ..Bitterblue....FX10...Palmento .Seville..Delmar..Raleigh...to name a few, choose the one that grows best in a particular location

  2. not sure what you are asking...a well maintained st augustine lawn will out compete any grass. If you mean what other grasses will grow where st augustine is grown it depends on your location...In N Texas Bermuda,,centipede..certain zoysia and buffalo grasses are also used as turf grasses

  3. St Augustine will choke out everything.

Bermuda may stand a chance but has a dormant season ( depending on where you live ) and look a little funny when it turns brown and the St Augustine is green.

  4. well, St. Augustine grass is a widely used lawn grass along the Gulf Coast in the U.S., in Southern Mexico, throughout the Caribbean region, South America, South Africa, Western Africa, Australia and the South Pacific and Hawaiian Islands.  It works well when mixed with Bermuda Grass.
