  1. i started with the electric guitar because theyre usually thinner and i find it easier to hold

teaching yourself with books as i found out takes longer then having lessons but it works .

  2. I'd go with a nylon string at first.  The frets are wide, the strings are soft and easy on the fingers, and you don't need electricity and an amp -- you can play it anywhere.  Plus, it has a beautiful tone if it's decent at all.  Then, once you can get around that a little, go for a good-quality acoustic or electric.

  3. If you're serious about learning a fender squire starter kit is right for you. It comes with a squire guitar, 15 watt amp, cable and guitar strap.

  4. Fender Squire

  5. acoustic. electrics are easier to play so getting that would maybe be a set back.

  6. Yes ma'am. Guitar is not that hard to learn at all. Especially if you

already understand rhythm. My first guitar was an Alvarez acoustic. I don't play electric. This guitar was about $200 and I love the sound of an Alvarez. Cheap, but nice. ; )

Edit: You can also go to you tube and there are people that have recorded themselves playing chords. This kinda gives you some first hand knowledge by seeing someone else play the chord. Try this along with a simple basic chord book for starters.

  7. acoustic

    xx

  8. get an acoustic guitar.  it's easy for beginners.  then when you really know a lot get an electric guitar.

and it's not that easy to learn so i suggest you buy a guide book.

    =)

  9. i started with an acoustic guitar and it seemed to work for me. i learned the different kinds of chords including power chords (most rock bands use them today) so when it came to picking up an electric guitar it came second nature to me.
