Which type of medical doctor makes the most money?

I want to become a doctor mostly a surgeon but i heard that it's difficult for surgeons to have a family because they're so busy. Oh and please don't misunderstand! I don't want to become a doctor only for the money ><" but money is one of the reasons ._.

anyways, i don't want to become a dentist so anything else is fine ><" also.. if you don't mind could you tell me how much a doctor makes? uhm.. another request is.. please tell me how busy the doctor would be.. Please and Thank You! ^^

i wanted to do surgery too, but that&#039;s very tough. the best thing to do if you want to be in medicine and make a lot of money is to specialize in something. become a pulmonologist, or a cardiologist, or a gynecologist or something of the sort.

Surgeons do make a lot of money, especially plastic surgeons who work on movie stars, but lots of money lies in other fields. Cardiac Interventionalists, who insert a cardiac catheter into the coronary arteries to stop a heart attack, make a good deal of money. Radiologists also make a lot of money, but nowadays spend most of their time looking at a computer screen. So, it really depends what kind of work you&#039;re interested in. The fact is, most doctors make very reasonable salaries; it&#039;s better to get into a specialty you&#039;re involved in than go into one you&#039;ll find boring, despite it paying a few thousand more.

If you would like to be a surgeon, see if you are interested in cosmetic surgery. Just like what they show in Dr. 90210, but you can also do that helping burn victims, babies who are born defective (I&#039;m not sure if that is the proper term for that), etc.

The Dr that makes the most money is the one who does professional lectures for Pharma and collects $5K per talk, up to three a day.

You will make a comfortable living in any surgical field however, I wouldnt worry about specifics because lots of factors determine what you get paid such as: medicare(who regulates what insurance pays) if  the patient is uninsured and you see them under emergent needs you can probably count on only getting paid for your service by the hospital, so theres a few examples.

Don&#039;t forget that money should not be a reason to enter this field.  Most doctors make a comfortable amount (no problems paying bills).  A minority make a ton and make everyone think that all doctors are rich.  Some doctors don&#039;t even make enough to stay in business...and that&#039;s mainly due to the cost of malpractice insurance premiums (ie, ob/gyn....in florida, malpractice premiums are about $200K a year, which is also just about how much they make).  Another example, take neurosurgery in NY.  Salary for an attending (after all that school and residency) is about $400-500K...malpractice premium is over $216K a year.  And let&#039;s not forget about the awesome $300K debt from med school.

I&#039;m not saying that there is no money in it.....there are many specialties that you can make a lot and live a great life.....but not all doctors make a ton or live the lives they thought they would have.  Medicine should never be about money, there are other fields for that.
