Every body has answered all of the questions for you quite well but they all missed your first one.  Alpha particles are the largest and heaviest of the particulate radiation.  Beta particles are an electron cluster, therefore lighter in mass than Alpha particles, and Gamma Rays have no mass, they are pure energy.


  2. 1) Gamma. Because it is an electromagnetic ray, it travels at the speed of light.

    2) Helium nuclei are released during alpha decay.

    3) An electron is released during β− decay, while a  positron is released during β+ decay.

    4) Because they are very high-energy, gamma rays are more difficult to stop than other types of radiation, often requiring concrete.
